Ed Wright
Ed Wright began his supermarket career in 1970 working for a family-owned independent supermarket group in East Tennessee in various store level positions throughout high school.
From 1972 through 1976, Ed participated in a management development program with Pay Less Supermarkets in Anderson, Indiana while attending college. Upon returning from Indiana in 1976, Ed took on merchandising and operations for the eight-store independent chain in Tennessee. He worked closely with the grocery wholesaler developing retailer support services for independents until 1982.
Ed joined Daymon in 1983 as Account Manager at Staff’s Supermarkets in Atlanta, Georgia. He moved on to open the Daymon office at Associated Wholesaler Grocers in Springfield, Missouri in 1984, before moving again to Kansas City as an Executive Account Manager in 1985.
In 1988, Ed became Vice President and a company officer of Daymon with responsibility for Associated Wholesale Grocers. He was promoted to Group Vice President in 1991 with responsible for a number of Daymon customers. In 1992, he was promoted to Group Vice President of the Topco region for Daymon Associates, located in Skokie, Illinois. In 2003, Ed was promoted to Executive Vice President.
Ed currently has responsibility for Daymon Worldwide Finance, Information Services, Asian operations, and several domestic U.S. business.
