Business Development

The Daymon Worldwide Business Development Team believes that there is strength through synergy and is dedicated to strengthening Customer and Supplier Partner relationships, streamlining business processes, and aligning best-in-class resources to support and grow the business of our constituents.

This is accomplished by our primary responsibility in three main areas:

  • Managing the overall business and relationships with our supplier partners (product manufacturers)
  • Providing a centralized focal point for category knowledge and related issues
  • Developing new business opportunities for current and prospective Supplier Partners

The foundation of our business is the development and maintenance of our Supplier Partner relationships. We work with 5,000 Supplier Partners both domestically and internationally. It is our obligation to identify the needs and opportunities for each that will effectively create long term profitable partnerships for all. Our relationship is contractual with each partner to deliver quality services specific to their line of products at the Customer where we have been appointed to represent them.

The Business Development Team consists of two core areas – the Category Experts and the Innovations Team.  The Category Experts consists of more than 20 leaders overseeing specific categories from Perishables, Frozen Foods, Foods, HBC, Office, and Auto to General Merchandise.  Each leader is responsible for all facets of the categories that he/she manages and is a central resource to all of our Supplier Partners and Customers. 

The Innovations Team includes experts on Lifestyle programs such as Organic, Health & Wellness, Ethnic, Premium, Kids and Value.  Additionally they work on developing and sourcing new and innovative products and help to weed out the “fads” from the trends with real staying power.

We, as a company, are always looking at ways to enhance our relationship with our supplier partners.  One way of doing this is through our Global Supplier Database. It is imperative that we have each of our Supplier Partners' support in populating and maintaining this database as it will initially offer them tools to market their company, products, and manufacturing capabilities to Customers worldwide.

How We Work With Our Supplier Partners

Our working relationship with our Supplier Partners will vary according to the Customer and the “Service Package” at that Customer. The reason for these varying services is that the service package at each customer team is customized according to the needs of the Customer. Once we establish representation with a supplier, it is our agreement to be their best choice on a go to market strategy. Our primary focus is to ensure we do everything in our power to increase the Supplier Partners' overall sales, while keeping them informed on all facets that affect their business. Communication is priority #1.
