Not Just for Tea Time

Jaffe Cake

Do you know what a jaffa cake is? It’s a cookie sized snack with a layer of sponge cake, a layer of jelly and a layer of chocolate that is most popular in the U.K (where they are more commonly known as biscuits).

But thanks to Daymon, Rimi, a supermarket chain in the Baltics, is now selling them under its Poesia private brand. (And by the way, the Poesia cakes are sourced for Rimi, by Daymon, in Poland – go figure.

“We are very excited about this innovative concept coming over from the UK - we are the first in the Baltic market with jaffa cakes,” says Marina Avericeva, Daymon Business Manager at Rimi, which is aggressively marketing the item as “a distinctly different snack choice.”
