Manage category management and vendor management activities for specific business units for driving the Customer’s Private Brands program. 

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Set category objectives, milestones and activities to support overall program and corporate vision
  • Influence and communicate category strategic and tactical plans for specific categories
  • Direct and develop category marketing and merchandising plans and initiatives
  • Communicate category sales and profit opportunities using Daymon and Customer systems
  • Create, establish & maintain solid relationships with customers and principals
  • Support team building initiatives to strengthen overall Daymon/Customer team
  • Act as a change agent for customers and principals
  • Maintain flexibility to change and re-direct goals as necessary
  • Create, administer and measure annual retail budgets and sales goals objectives
  • Effectively develop and deliver outstanding presentations
  • Think and act strategically as well as tactically in performance of the job
  • Develop techniques for analyzing various forms of data to determine localized customer, and overall business trends.

  • Understands and supports the role Daymon plays within the industry
  • Leads the marketing development effort to bring new products from concept through commercialization including market exit

  • Champions the brand through a comprehensive understanding of customer and end-user needs and products positioning relative to the competition

  • Works across multiple internal and external groups such as design, packaging and labeling, regulatory claims, advertising, sales force education

  • Builds and maintains long-term relationships with category teams and regional merchandising and sales teams to promote and support the brands.

  • Maintains high level of product category knowledge through staying current in published information, regional market contacts and industry educational meetings

  • Proven background in category management & negotiation capacity preferably gained in an international B2B environment
  • Sound understanding of cost/profit drivers
  • Graduate caliber
  • Ideal candidates will have demonstrated accomplishments in sales, marketing, category management, product development, business management, negotiations, procurement, and merchandising
  • Effectively analyze various reports in order to obtain pertinent and accurate information
  • Proficient in English, knowledge of another language, like Spanish, French, German, Italian or Dutch will be an advantage
  • Relocation will not form part of this assignment
